1. Standard Operating Procedures (Core Workflow)

1.1 Pre-Operation Check

  • Water Level Verification: Ensure the heating element is completely submerged. Use distilled or deionized water only; do not use tap water.
  • Sealing Ring Inspection: Confirm the gasket is clean, intact, and free from cracks or deformation.
  • Valves Check: Verify that the exhaust valve and safety valve are clear and unobstructed.
  • Load Placement & Preparation: Do not overload or tightly pack items; leave adequate space for steam circulation. Loosen bottle caps by half a turn. Use paper-plastic or non-woven packaging bags. Do not fill liquid containers past 2/3 capacity to prevent boiling over.

1.2 Operation & Sterilization Cycle

  • Lid Closure: Close the door and tighten the handle/clamps securely. For buckle-type lids, apply force evenly across opposite sides to prevent uneven stress.
  • Select Sterilization Program:
    • Instruments & General Media: 121°C for 15–20 minutes
    • Glucose/Sugar-containing Media: 115°C for 20–30 minutes
    • (Note: Preset programs may vary depending on the equipment model.)
  • Air Displacement: Start the unit and purge cold air completely. Failure to purge cold air will result in inaccurate temperature readings.
  • Timing: Begin timing once the chamber reaches the set pressure and temperature.

1.3 Depressurization & Unloading

  • Depressurization: Allow the pressure to reduce naturally and slowly. Do not manually vent pressure abruptly, especially when sterilizing liquids, to prevent hazardous boiling over.
  • Opening the Lid: Ensure the pressure gauge reads 0 before opening the door.
  • Cool-down Period: Leave the lid slightly open for 5–10 minutes to allow steam to vent before removing items.
  • Storage: Move unloaded items to a sterile area for cooling and drying.

2. Daily & Preventive Maintenance Guidelines

2.1 Post-Use Maintenance (After Each Cycle)

  • Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool before cleaning the inner chamber and wiping away moisture.
  • Clear the exhaust port and filter screen to prevent blockages.
  • Clean and wipe the door sealing ring to maintain elasticity.

2.2 Weekly Maintenance

  • Clean the internal chamber using clean water or a neutral detergent.
  • Inspect the power cord, plug, and status indicator lights for normal operation.
  • Check door latches and hinges for smooth mechanical movement.

2.3 Monthly Maintenance

  • Clean the safety valve and exhaust valve to ensure they move freely without jamming.
  • Check the seal ring for aging or cracking, and replace it if necessary.
  • If severe mineral deposits or limescale occur, clean using a specialized descaling agent according to product instructions.
