Double beam Spectrophotometer-  As from the name, it is getting very clear that that light is split into two beams before it reaches to the sample. One beam is used a reference and the second beam passes through the sample. Samples are typically placed in a transparent cell, known as a cuvette.  Cuvettes are typically rectangular in shape, commonly with an internal width of 1 cm.
